This month marks 2 years of the Café/Tap!

Looking back...

Like a lot of good ideas, the Flying Monk Café/Tap started as a ‘what if?’

Taking on the brewery was a big task in itself, but the idea of having a place onsite where people could come and try the latest brews felt so exciting. Looking back at the images of the derelict barn we stood in front of in 2020, it’s hard to imagine the vision we shared, but we rolled our sleeves up & got to work.

The morning we opened was a panicked blur of last minute odd-jobs & seeking reassurance that surely at least one of us knew what we were doing (spoiler; we didn’t)

We spent the best part of two years preparing for this day, & still felt entirely unprepared.No one wanted to utter the words we were all thinking; what if no one turns up? But you did, & you continue to do so rain, snow or shine. 

Looking Forward...

This year our Quiz Nights have been received really well, & we're looking forward to bringing our pizzas back over the summer with our weekly Saturday Pizza Nights! & of course we hope as many of you as possible join us at Hill Haze 2024 in August for a day of live music, comedy, craft beer & good food. 

So thank you to our team who make it possible, our chefs, our runners, our potwashers, & everyone who has given their time to help, over the course of long weeks, late nights & early mornings, we’re building something amazing together.

& thank you to all of you! Thank you for brightening our doors, welcoming us wholeheartedly into the community & for choosing to support your local.
